Strawberry Fields Triathlon

(7/21/08) In July we decided it was time to try a triathlon. After a major mishap at the Ritz in Marina Del Rey, we ended up with brand new bikes for the race. Despite not training much, it was a great first experience. The open water ocean swim was incredibly rough, especially for two people who had never done an open water swim before, but we both did pretty well on that leg (in new wetsuits). Kyle had some bike trouble but ended up finishing well despite it, Kelly was stunned by how hard the run was after the swim and bike and vowed to train more, and we both finished looking forward to doing another one. (And we had great supporters and photographers - Caitlin and Brad!)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So Cal

In July we spent a week in Venice Beach and Thousand Oaks working, catching up with Drew, spending time with Brad and Caitlin, and trying out our first triathlon.

Brad and Caitlin (heart) San Francisco

Caitlin and Brad had a little business/pleasure trip to SF in June. On Saturday, they rented road bikes and we biked from SF through Sausalito to Tiburon, had margaritas, and took the ferry back. We're doing our best to get these two to move up here from LA!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grandma's Marathon Weekend

(6/21/08) Grandma's Marathon weekend in Duluth was full of all its usual fun - well worth the trip from Cali. Every one of us ran a race this year- Erika in the 1/4 mile whippersnapper, Lexa ran the 5K, we ran the half marathon and so did Leesh, Tal, Mary, and Jonathan, and Mark and Michelle both ran the full marathon.

Back to the Cabin

We flew to Minnesota in advance of Grandma's Marathon weekend so that we could spend a couple days at the cabin with Tal, Daisy and Lily.
